Encourage expansion of UConn

ACTION: See Economic Development Plan

OBJECTIVE #2
Improve interaction with Driggs School to upgrade student performance to make it the best elementary school in the city.

ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:

1. Establish regular communications with Driggs School administration
   
2. Encourage Mattatuck Museum to create programs for students at Driggs School to increase awareness of the historic nature of the neighborhood
   
3. Promote partnering of UConn students and Driggs students
   
4. Ask neighbors to become mentors
   
5. Support the formation of an active Parent Teacher Association
   
6. Formally adopt the school
   

OBJECTIVE #3
Improve interaction with Driggs School to upgrade student performance to make it the best elementary school in the city.

ACTION TO BE TAKEN:

1. Encourage the neighborhood, museum and schools to schedule periodic historic preservation education programs
