OBJECTIVE #1
Place trash cans for public use strategically throughout neighborhood
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Select trash cans with consistent
historic facade
- Coordinate with City for pick-ups

OBJECTIVE #2
Encourage residents to dispose of trash properly
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Enforce existing fines for
landlords/tenants
- Work with City departments for
strict enforcement of existing codes

OBJECTIVE #3
Keep Streets Clean
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Increase usage of government work
programs to perform neighborhood clean-ups
- Establish an annual clean up day
and identify projects on an ongoing basis
- Improve leaf pick-up
- Provide semi-annual clean up of
drains
- Work with City departments for
enforcement of snow removal ordinances
- Provide bulk trash telephone
number and directions to residents in English and Spanish
- Encourage City to sweep streets
weekly
- Encourage residents to take
responsibility for weeds and litter on sidewalks and curbs adjoining their property

OBJECTIVE
#4
Eliminate quality of life detractors such as prostitution, drug dealing, pan
handling and noise pollution
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Work with City and State
departments to enforce laws and prosecute offenders
- Encourage City to buy equipment to
monitor and enforce noise levels

OBJECTIVE #5
Maintain elderly outreach programs
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Establish phone tree or other type
of networking
- Encourage people to get to know
their neighbors

OBJECTIVE #6
Eliminate deteriorating, unsafe or unhealthy conditions in chronically vacant
properties and houses (see Housing-objective 4)
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Identify and secure properties
- Evaluate possible constructive use
or plan for demolition
- Coordinate teams to clean vacant
lots
