OBJECTIVE #1
Develop awareness of services that are currently provided in the neighborhood
ACTION TO BE TAKEN:
- Create a directory which will
serve as a useful tool for Hillside residents and businesses in and out of the area.
The inventory will aid in identifying duplication of services. Funding
sources will be aided in identification and evaluation of agencies.
OBJECTIVE #2
Limit number of social service agencies in neighborhood
ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:
- Moratorium on the expansion of
social service agencies until inventory is completed
- Seek change in State laws to
require that the State get city approval before it can locate any social service agency in
an NRZ, and that it conform to all local ordinances
OBJECTIVE #3
Oversight and approval of the conversion of vacant houses for social service usage
ACTION TO BE TAKEN:

Adhere to State Guidelines and Hillside Strategic Plan when expansion of social
service agency is permitted within the neighborhood

- Maintain historic exterior in
accordance with housing restoration guidelines
