Racing down Pine Street past neighborhood residents (Zembruski family on the wall at right) and the train station bell tower in the distance. It was a good day for old friends to get together and a chance to make new acquaintances.

Later in the race, as riders were more separated these three still competed as they trekked along Hillside Avenue between the Central Avenue and Pine Street climbs.

Normally such a bad photo would have been buried forever, but as this chap on cycle #13 nearly ran over this Hillside photographer as he sat on the curb.

This photo is just for the remembrance of the moment   :)

Lone rider transcends the Central Avenue incline with a fine view of Downtown Waterbury behind him.  Hillside residents gathered at this intersection and cheered on any and all riders passing this difficult point.

And again the chap who almost ran over the Hillside photographer.  It is rider #13, who just after the middle of the race had attained a commanding lead, to be lost later through equipment trouble.

The three photos below are of riders rounding the top of Central Avenue at various times throughout the race.   Enjoy!
